The Embassy of Italy in Canberra invites you to the Home Life exhibition, part of the Design Canberra Festival, the most important design event of the capital, now in its 8th year, which celebrates design, art, craftsmanship and industry through 200 exhibitions, talks and symposia.
Home Life aims to investigate the evolution, in some cases the radical transformation, that our way of living the home has undergone in recent years deeply influenced by the pandemic, to give visitors a multiple look at the complex yet very familiar reality of the domestic dimension.
The curator, Elisabetta Pisu, selected 20 design objects created by the major Italian designers and brands of the current international scenario. The selection, which include furniture, furnishing accessories and fittings, represent in a direct and immediately intuitive way the new domestic habits and their universe of meaning. “Home Life combines the concepts of comfort, ecology and versatility, outlining a different vision of the contemporary home, a place where the new parameters of everyday life are being defined,” she stated.
In this context, sustainability is seen as an essential condition, technology as a paramount dimension for domestic high living standards, domestic life as a tool to soothe the spirit.
Admission is free.
