Spirito di Stella is an 18-metre vessel completely accessible to disabled people, a catamaran which is completing a journey around the world (Wheels on Waves World Tour 2023-2025) at the same time as the Amerigo Vespucci Italian Navy training ship. Spirito di Stella will visit three ports in Australia<\/u>.<\/p>\n

This is the first fully accessible World Tour in a catamaran and the participation of people with disabilities, civilians and soldiers from Italian and foreign Armed Forces is expected and encouraged. The project, strongly supported by the Italian Defense Ministry, aims to allow people of different cultures and abilities, disabled and not<\/strong>, to live and share the experience of the sea on a sailing boat <\/strong>with the objective of demonstrating that they can break down barriers of all kinds<\/strong>, in order to ensure that all the values \u200b\u200benshrined in the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities<\/strong> are respected.<\/p>\n

Spirito di Stella will be in Queensland and Northern Territory\u2019s ports on the dates below:<\/p>\n

– Brisbane<\/strong> – HMAS Moreton port: from 9 to 13 August 2024<\/u><\/p>\n

– Cairns<\/strong> \u2013 HMAS Cairns port: from 26 August to 3 September 2024<\/u><\/p>\n

– Darwin<\/strong> \u2013 HMAS Coonawarra port: from 24 September to 6 October 2024<\/u> (in Darwin Spirito di Stella will rejoin the training ship Amerigo Vespucci).<\/p>\n

The opportunity to board and take daily tours will be available while Spirito di Stella is in port or when the ship transits between the three Australian ports of Brisbane, Cairns and Darwin.<\/p>\n
