Thanks to the support of Intesa San Paolo and other Italian companies, as well as the active contribution of the Embassy\u2019s staff, it was possible to organise an evening reception at the official Residence attended by around 200 guests, Australian Ministry representatives, local authorities and various federal institutions in Canberra.<\/p>\n<p>The evening, opened together with the Head of Protocol of this \u201cDepartment of Foreign Affairs and Trade\u201d, highlighted the many shared visions between the two Countries, in the Indo-Pacific context and with respect to the the conflict in Ukraine, emphasizing their common commitment to observe the principles of territorial integrity, democracy, respect for international law, which has characterised both Rome and Canberra since the conclusion of World War II.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"resource\/doc\/2022\/06\/lowres-220602-italianembassy-10671.jpg\" alt=\"lowres 220602 italianembassy 10671\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"resource\/doc\/2022\/06\/lowres-220602-italianembassy-10760.jpg\" alt=\"lowres 220602 italianembassy 10760\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This was also an opportunity to recall the importance of the large Italian community in the country, which has contributed so much to Australia\u2019s wealth and prosperity.
