The 25th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in collaboration with its longstanding partners in linguistic promotion (MiC, MIM, MUR, CePeLL, the Government of the Swiss Confederation, Accademia della Crusca, CGIE, Italophone Broadcasting Community, Treccani Italian Encyclopedia Institute, RAI Italia, and the Dante Alighieri Society), is the most important global event dedicated to the Italian language. Since its establishment in 2001, the initiative has received the annual High Patronage of the President of the Republic.
In the year of the First International Conference on Italophonia, and in continuity with the fifth edition of the General Assembly of the Italian Language in the World, this year’s theme is “Italophonia: A Language Beyond Borders”. The goal is to celebrate the linguistic, cultural, and social space of Italian, envisioning a new global community united by a shared passion for the language and, through it, a deeper connection to Italy.
The program of events and activities is designed to highlight, with an inclusive approach, the many expressions of Italian and its use across diverse contexts.
