Citizenship update

Notice to the public,

Following the amendments introduced by the 2026 Budget Law to Article 4, paragraph 1-bis, letter b, of Law No. 91 of February 5, 1992, as of January 1, 2026, the Embassy informs that, parents, at least one of whom is an Italian citizen by birth, may submit a declaration of intent to acquire Italian citizenship within three years of the child’s birth.

The above declarations are made free of charge.
