The Italian Ambassador to Australia, Paolo Crudele, and the Military Attaché, Colonel Marco Bertoli, attended the commemorations for National Unity and Armed Forces Day.

The Italian Residence hosted the traditional reception attended by Australian civil and military authorities, representatives of Italian Defence companies and military attachés who are present in the capital. The celebrations continued with the laying of a wreath at the Italian Cultural Centre and at the War Memorial, in the presence of representatives of the Italian-Australian community.

“On 4 November 1918, Italy regained peace and its borders. We proudly recalled the commitment of the many patriots of that time and honoured the qualified contribution that our soldiers make today to international peacekeeping missions,” Ambassador Crudele commented at the conclusion of the institutional events.
