Participation of the Ambassador of Italy at the event-launching of Prysmian Group’s new production lines in Australia

The Ambassador of Italy to Australia, Paolo Crudele, attended as guest of honour, the official launch of Prysmian Group’s new fibre optic cable production lines that will be used by Telstra, Australia’s leading telecommunications company.

The event, which was also attended by the Consul General in Sydney Gianluca Rubagotti and senior representatives of the local Italian Chamber of Commerce (President Fabio Grassia and Secretary General Rachele Grassi), was held at the cable manufacturing plant of the Italian company’s local branch in northern Sydney.

Telstra CEO, Vicky Brady and Prysmian Group’s Vice President of Telecommunications, Frederick Persson, recalled the milestones of their historic business partnership which has been further strengthened since February 2022. Back then the Italian company, specialised in energy and telecommunications cables and energy and telecommunications systems, was appointed as official supplier of the Telstra’s fibre-optic cables for the nationwide network between the Australian capital cities.

At the end of the event, the Ambassador Paolo Crudele commented with appreciation: “This is a wonderful industrial collaboration that aims to facilitate the connectivity of Australia. It is certainly a reason of great pride for Prysmian Group, and a proof of the leading role that Italian know-how and technology have in this country.”
