Sydney. Australia’s Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, attended a community event for the Italian National Day.

Ambasciatore

The Ambassador of Italy in Australia, Paolo Crudele, participated in the Italian National Ball 2024 in Sydney, organised by Co.As.It. (Committee to Assist Italians), a non-profit association committed since 1968 to supporting fellow Italians as well as the promotion of Italian culture and language.
In the presence of the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, the Ambassador, in recalling the 75th anniversary of bilateral relations, wished to highlight the main areas of collaboration between Italy and Australia. These include trade, culture, defence, and people-to-people exchanges, as well as the common values of freedom, equality and respect for human and individual rights. In his own remarks, Prime Minister Albanese underscored the significant role that the Italo-Australian community has played in Australia’s economic, social, and cultural development.
The event, which was attended by approximately 600 guests, including prominent figures from the political, business, and Italian-Australian communities, raised funds to support a new initiative aimed at assisting those affected by dementia.
