On 9 March 2020, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers issued a decree outlining urgent measures to combat and contain the Covid-19 virus throughout the entire nation.
In particular, the decree states that the measures restricting the freedom of movement throughout the nation, will apply to Italian citizens as well as foreigners. Exceptions will only be made for proven work requirements, emergency situations or health reasons.
We therefore advise all visa applicants or current visa holders for Italy to reschedule their travel, in the second semester of this year.
