This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGS), an occasions to reflect and educate the public on the urgency of achieving gender equality and eradicate those barriers that still women and girls continue to face in pursuing scientific careers.
This Embassy is proud to share two stories, two different careers, already well establish or just at an early stage, of women who got their education in Italy and then moved to Australia.
Although the gender gap has not yet been closed, the two stories provide an optimistic message, telling us that Italy and Australia rank among the most advanced Countries in this sense, and that a scientific career here is not only possible, but also a source of great satisfaction.
