The Ambassador of Italy to Australia, Paolo Crudele, visited the Italian and business communities in Western Australia from 8 to 11 February.
On the occasion of the 7th Indian Ocean Conference, the Ambassador and the new Consul in Perth, Sergio Federico Nicolaci, held productive meetings with key institutions of the Italian community. These included COMITES, the board of the local Italian-Australian Chamber of Commerce, and the Italian-Australian Welfare and Cultural Centre (IAWCC). They also met with senior management from major Italian companies operating in the State, such as ENI and SAIPEM. The latter recently won a contract to build one of the world’s largest fertiliser plants in Western Australia, a project worth around €2.8 billion.
On my second visit to Perth, I was once again reminded of the immense value of our community, whose spirit and determination have made a decisive contribution to the development of this state, without ever losing sight of their roots or their strong sense of attachment to their homeland,” said the Ambassador, who also wished to personally greet and thank all the staff at the Consulate.
In expressing gratitude on behalf of the Italian institutions, I would like to remind you that you can always rely on the assistance of the Italian Embassy in Canberra, the Consulate in Perth, and all other Italian entities in Australia.
