On 26 September in Canberra, Ambassador Paolo Crudele received 75 Air Force Aspirants of the Borea VI course, accompanied by the Commander of the Air Force Academy, General of the Air Division, Luigi Casali.
Their mission to Australia – which took place in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra – is an integral part of their training course and represents the most important stage of an institutional trip that has already touched Kuwait and will stop in Singapore on its way back to Italy.
The objectives are twofold: to put the students in close contact with the operational theatres in which the Italian Air Force is engaged and to offer them an opportunity to compare themselves with foreign academic and operational realities, with a view to strengthening cooperation between partner states, such as Australia, in order to safeguard international security.
At the conclusion of the event, the Italian Ambassador commented, “it was an honour for me to welcome the Commander of the Air Force Academy, Luigi Casali, and his students of the Borea VI course. Their mission, much appreciated by the Australians, takes place in the centenary year of the birth of the Italian Air Force, a history rich in dedication, sacrifice and national pride that I am sure these young people will know how to make their own during their career path.”
