The Italian Ambassador in Canberra, Paolo Crudele, met with the Faenza flag-throwers who had completed a programme of performances in Australia, including stops in Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney. The program was organized by the Comites from Canberra and various associations, in collaboration with the Embassy.
The performance was well-received by the large crowds at the National Multicultural Festival in Canberra (16-18 February 2024), which is a significant festival celebrating cultural diversity in Australia with over 170 cultures represented.
The Embassy of Italy, which had its own space within the European Village, also participated by providing valuable tourist information and inspiration about Italy, thanks to the contribution of ENIT. In addition, virtual trips with a 3D VR and other craft activities were also made available to the visitors.
Ambassador Crudele expressed his satisfaction, stating, “We are pleased to have once again contributed this year to showcasing Italy and its vast cultural offerings during the festival of multiculturalism that the Australian capital proudly celebrates annually. We are delighted with the great success of the Faenza flag-wavers, which is testament to their long-standing tradition and the captivating art that continues to attract audiences worldwide”.
