On Saturday 6 April, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Auto Italia Festival took place at the residence of Ambassador Paolo Crudele, hosted by the Italian Embassy in Canberra.
The event was attended by a select group of guests, including the presidents of regional and national clubs of major Italian automotive brands, representatives of the Italian community, and the General Manager of Maserati Australia. At the entrance to the Residence, there were several iconic vehicles from the Italian automotive industry, both historic and contemporary.
In his speech, Ambassador Paolo Crudele said “Since its launch in 1985, the Auto Italia Festival in Canberra has grown to become one of Australia’s most important events showcasing Italian automotive excellence.” and continued “Italian cars are not just a means of transport, they are works of design, created with precision, passion and a relentless pursuit of excellence.”
The Auto Italia committee is a non-profit organization that donates the profits of the Festival to charity.
The following day, the festival took place in the stunning setting of the Queanbeyan Showground, with around two hundred vehicles on display to thousands of visitors.
