Canberra International Music Festival: presentation of the new artistic director Ughetti

Ambassador Paolo Crudele, hosted the launch of the new season of the Canberra International Music Festival (CIMF) in the Italian Residence. The Festival, which will be held in the main concert halls of the Capital from 30 April to 4 May 2025, offers a rich musical programme, featuring a total of twenty-seven orchestral appointments, with outstanding performances by Australian and international artists, offering a repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary music.

On the occasion, it was introduced the new artistic director Eugene Ughetti, who will lead the CIMF until 2028. Descendant of a family From the Giulia’s Region, Ughetti participated in 2018 in the training-cultural internship for young people ‘Giuliani nel mondo’, a valuable opportunity to keep alive and active his roots with his homeland, the potential and the cultural and economic prospects of Trieste and Venezia Giulia. He has also taken part in Italian music festivals such as the multidisciplinary Transart Festival in Bolzano and has taught composition in conservatories in Tuscany and Friuli, demonstrating the strong link between tradition and innovation.
