Participation of the Ambassador at the Co.As.It Gala 2023

Last weekend saw the first celebrations for Republic Day in Sydney, which were attended by the Italian Ambassador, Paolo Crudele, and Consul General Andrea De Felip, as well as Senator Francesco Giacobbe and the Honourable Nicola Care’.

On Saturday 27th the ‘Italian National Ball’ annual gala event organised by Co.As.It to celebrate the organisation’s activities in support of the community was held, which was attended by, among others, the Hon. Sally Sitou as Representative of the Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, and Stephen Kamper, Minister of Multiculturalism in NSW. The Co.As.It. fundraiser held on the occasion will be used for the establishment of an Italian-language mental health helpline to benefit especially the elderly in our community.

On Sunday 28, Club Marconi organised the traditional festival proudly celebrating the traditions of the Italian-Australian community, with exhibitions of vintage Italian cars and Ducati motorbikes, street performers, children’s entertainment, stalls and an enchanting finale with fireworks. There was no shortage of food stands, of course, as well as typical wines and sweets. It was a well attended event, even by prominent Australian political figures, such as the Hon Chris Bowen, Federal Minister for Climate Change and Energy.
